212 GYROTONIC®'s certified instructors have been teaching the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® system for over 18 years and we are updated annually. Our teachers are trained in all specialized equipment and specialized courses and many have been fortunate to be trained directly and privately by Juliu Horvath, the founder and creator of the systems. We also offer Ballet, Modern and Contemporary dance, Pointe, Yoga, MELT, Thai massage, deep tissue Massage, Physical therapy, TRX, Personal training, PNF, Rolfing/structural integration and the Alexander Technique. We look forward to introducing you to these modalities or deepening your ongoing practice of any of these techniques.
Jennifer DePalo-Peterson (Founder/Owner)
Jennifer has been an instructor of the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® System since 1996 while dancing full time as a Principal dancer for the Martha Graham Dance Company(17 years). Her teacher training was completed and certified by the inventor of the system, Juliu Horvath. She is a certified Pre-Trainer of Level 1, is certified in GYROKINESIS®, GYROTONIC® Level 1, Level 2 Format 1 and 2, GYROTONIC® Application for Dancers Format 1 and 2, in all of the specialized equipment, the gyrotoner, Leg-extension unit, jump stretching board, the ladder, specialized courses including Therapuetic applications for shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle, scoliosis, and Pre-post natal gyrotonic. She prides herself on having a clientele that has been with her for the longevity of her teaching and loves how 212 GYROTONIC® has grown and flourished.
Katy has traveled throughout the country and internationally to study with renowned Authorized Master Trainers including Miriam Barbosa, Uwe Herbstreit and Lisa Marie Goodwin-Rice. She continues her study of Yoga For Dancers under Hilary Cartwright- one of the original interpreters of the technique that has evolved into the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®. Katy is certified in the Advanced Level Programs, the Dancer Applications 1 and 2, and the Therapeutic Shoulder Girdle Application.
She graduated with honors and a BFA in Dance from The Ailey School/Fordham University and has been performing and teaching professionally for 10 years in NYC.
Yuko Suzuki Giannakis
Yuko is a certified GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor. She also has certification in special equipment such as the GYROTONER®, the Jumping Stretching Board and the Leg Extension Unit. She has completed the courses in the GYROTONIC® Prenatal & Postnatal Application, the Application for Dancers I, the Application for Hip Replacement, and the Application for Breast Cancer Survivors.
Yuko started to practice the GYROTONIC® system after she injured her knee and had a surgery in 1998. The system helped her tremendously to regain her ability to dance and perform on the stage, and has continued to support her through the physical demands of a professional dance career and two pregnancies.
Emily Moore sees movement patterns and builds dexterous relationships between all parts of the moving whole. Her sessions activate energy and movement in and throughout the body, facilitate deep restoration, self-awareness, and generation.
She is responsive to the individual and guides her students into their own modes of learning, unique physical power, and personal goals.
Emily weaves her experiential knowledge of Dance, GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, Chi-Gong, Bodywork, MELT Method, Anatomy, Neuromuscular Facilitation, and Yoga together in her practice.
In addition, Emily is constantly learning from various forms of energy medicine and movement modalities, wielding their insight into her work.
Dania Gold Namdar (M.AmSAT)
Dania trained under the direction of world renowned-teachers Nanette Walsh and John Nicholls; shortly after graduation she started teaching on their teachers training program where she is still an active faculty member.
Dania maintains private practices in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Her students come from a variety of backgrounds and include dancers, musicians, and people suffering from chronic pain and the stress of daily life. She has also worked in the care and rehabilitation process for blind children with multiple disabilities.
Dania is committed to helping people rehabilitate in ways that emphasize function and well-being, not pain; she has extensive first-hand experience of the freedom and self-empowerment that comes about by adherence to this approach.
